RTM had its beginnings in 1980 when the parishes of Ross-on-Wye, Bridstow, Peterstow and Brampton Abbotts were joined together as a United Benefice. Lea, Hope Mansel and Weston-under-Penyard had been grouped together and later Aston Ingham, Linton and Upton Bishop formed a group. One by one these groups joined the Ross Team Benefice and finally in 2002 the parishes of Walford, Sollershope, How Caple and Foy were added.
People have lived in our parishes over many centuries. Roman remains have been found at Upton Bishop and Weston-under-Penyard (Ariconium).
All our churches are ancient, most having been built originally in the thirteenth century.
