Men's Supper Club

Membership is open to all gentlemen who are members of a Christian Church in the area or to any ordained MInisters. Male guests of any faith or belief are always welcome and may become regular members.

The Club meets for dinner at 7.30pm on a Tuesday (usually the first) of alternate months and after dinner speakers provide illustrated talks on a varied range of subjects.

Members are asked to notify their attendance intent a week prior to each meeting and menu choices are available.

The July meeting is designated as Ladies' Night when members are invited to bring a partner.

The Venue for 2011/12 is the Castle Lodge Hotel, Wilton (the entrance is from the first lane on the left as you approach Ross from the roundabout at the junction of the A40 with the A49 at Wilton).

Tuesday 6th March 2012
Animals have feelings too ~ Nick Blainey (late President of the Veterinary Society)
Starter: Salmon Fishcakes with pea puree and white wine sauce.
or Sweet pepper chutney tart with a side salad.
Main: Grilled Lamb chops with spring onion mash with a Rosemary and red currant sauce.
or Deep Fried Beer battered cod with mushy peas and sauté potatoes.

The History of Paper ~ Christian Westmacott
Starter: Chicken Liver Parfait with homemade chutney and toasted brioche.
or Smoked trout with egg and watercress salad.
Main: 8oz Herefordshire beef Rump Steak with field mushrooms, tomato and onion rings and potato wedges
or Roast chicken breast filled with brie and cranberry and served with an orange sauce.

Starter: Grilled Goats Cheese on Crouton with homemade chutney, rocket and balsamic vinegar.
or Aromatic duck balls on balsamic crouton, red pepper chilli chutney with shaved parmesan and pea shoots.
Main: Homemade steak and ale pie with short crust pastry served with chips.
or Grilled Trout with lemon butter, toasted almonds, minted new potatoes and vegetables.

Starter: Fantailed Melon with fresh berries and raspberry coulis.
or Smoked Salmon with salad leaves and capers served with buttered brown bread.
Main: Smoked pork tenderloin with posh mash and red wine gravy.
or Grilled Salmon on a bed of dauphinoise potatoes with white wine sauce.

Tuesday 15 th January 2013 (Back to 3 rd week to get over Christmas).

Starter: Tempura squid and tiger prawns served with avocado salsa.
or Asparagus spears with poached egg and creamy brie sauce.
Main: Beef medallions topped with stilton and served with a mushroom brandy sauce.
or Grilled sea bass on a bed of spinach and potato mash topped with a prawn sauce.

Tuesday 5 th March 2013
The Sky at Night ~ Norman Pomfret
Starter: Crispy beef strips with sweet chilli dip.
or Garlic mushrooms served in a Phyllo basket rocket bell sauce.
Main: Roast pork served with caramelised apple sauce and pan gravy.
or Poached haddock on a bed of leek and potato mash topped with poached egg and cheese sauce.

Finally, should you not wish to eat with us for any reason you would be very welcome to join us for coffee circa 8:45 and still hear our excellent speaker of the evening.
