The parishes consisted of the well-established market town of Ross-on-Wye (population approx. 10,000) and the thirteen surrounding villages of Aston Ingham, Linton, Upton Bishop, Hope Mansel, The Lea and Weston-under-Penyard to the east and Brampton Abbotts, How Caple, Sollershope, Foy, Bridstow and Peterstow to the north and Walford to the south.
There is a Rector is based in Ross and there are two groups of six parishes each with their Team Vicar and a part time Assistant Priest at Walford. There was an Assistant Curate and three Licensed Readers. All of us share our ministry with the laity in all parts of the benefice.
Each parish has its own Parochial Church Council (PCC).
Ross and Walford Benefice exists to spread the joy of God's caring love shown through his Son Jesus Christ. With God's help we seek to grow in knowledge, understanding and faith through worship and prayer, eagerness to serve the world and opportunities for reflection and renewal.
